Previous students (Academic Master's and Doctorate)

A recent research with part of the graduates of the academic courses of the Program, carried out by the UFBA Postgraduate Coordination, shows that the postgraduate programs has been important for the placement of students in the job market and for their orientation towards more advanced studies. It shows that 60.9% of the graduates obtained better job positions than they had before taking the course, and that 30.4% of the graduates enrolled in doctoral or postdoctoral activities.

The majority activity of the graduates is linked to teaching in higher education, either in public or private universities. Several previous students now work in public environmental, private or the third sector.

Our graduates promote research in their work places, not only continuing the original activities of their research group in the Program (17.4%), but also leading new research groups (8.7%) or opening new lines of research (43.5%). In addition, in these new lines of research, our graduates end up capturing resources (20%).

The overwhelming majority of graduates consider that the course contributed to their professional growth (95.7%), their employability (78.3%) and income (66.5%), enabling them to teach, development of research projects (95.7%) and applied activities (87%), and for their professional performance (100%), so that all respondents would recommend the courses of the Program.

The scientific production of the graduates in the last four years (CAPES quadrennium 2013-2016) is expressive and shows their insertion in the scientific community. It includes 111 articles in periodicals and 3 book chapters. Most articles (58%) were published in journals very well classified journals.
